14 DAY TRIAL // Although we were expecting Mighty Kingdom's Conan Chop Chop action-adventure roguelike game to release this year, publisher Funcom announced earlier today it has decided to move the game's launch to Q1 2020.
The reason behind the decision is based on the feedback received after the very successful first demo of the game. Apparently, both companies, Mighty Kingdom and Funcom, are determined to make Conan Chop Chop bigger than better by implementing many of the features suggested by players.
One of these features is online multiplayer, which wasn't part of the initial project. However, the time until release will now be used to add this major feature, along with others that haven't been specified in the announcement.
“One of the things we get to do with the extra time is to expand multiplayer from just couch co-op to also include full online multiplayer. This has undoubtedly been THE most requested feature after we started showing off the game, so we’re very excited for the opportunity to bring that in,” says founder and CEO of Mighty Kingdom Philip Mayes.
Teased in early April and revealed at E3 this year, Conan Chop Chop has been very well received by the media and players alike. It's probably the main reason the game was delayed, so we'll be setting our expectations a little bit higher now that developers plan to add even more stuff.
“We had an absolute blast showcasing the game at E3 and Gamescom earlier this year. It was especially gratifying to see how much fun people had playing the game in co-op mode. The teamwork, the banter, the way people moved ever so sneakily towards their near-death companions in order to pick up their gold when they fall. We couldn’t have been happier with the reception,” added Mayes.
Following the announcement, the new timeframe for the game's release is the first quarter of 2020. As far as the places where you'll be able to play this, Funcom says PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch are the chosen platforms.
