There are new units and more maps to fight on

Video game developer Relic and publisher SEGA are announcing that they will launch a new standalone army pack for Company of Heroes 2, called The British Forces, on the PC on September 3, allowing gamers to take control of an entirely new force that delivers 12 units to dominate the battlefield with.

The expansion for the strategy game also features six new commanders, each with a unique set of abilities, and there are also eight new multiplayer maps that show the areas where the new army fought in Europe.

Relic says that The British Forces for Company of Heroes 2 is designed to be historically accurate, with a focus on both mobility and defensive, offering two patches through the tech three, one called anvil and another labeled hammer.

The first one will be focused on solid preparations for incoming attacks, designed to bleed enemies dry and to then take over territory, while the second will deliver hard hitting offensive units that can take the fight to the opponent controlled areas.

Greg Wilson, executive producer, states, "The British Army has been one of the most requested factions since we first announced Company of Heroes 2 three years ago. The British were a major player in WWII and we are excited to bring their unique makeup and overall tactical doctrine to the Company of Heroes 2 battlefield."

Company of Heroes has plenty of life left in it

The development team also says that the core game and all the expansion also get a major update that is designed to improve the balance of all five factions and to upgrade animations and graphics.

Those who get The British Forces for Company of Heroes 2 will be able to play against all the other factions and can also enjoy all the maps that have been offered for the strategy title so far.

It seems that the title still has plenty of life left in it, and a solid number of players are still involved with the multiplayer modes.

Rumors have recently suggested that Relic will soon announce that it was working on Dawn of War 3, but it seems that for the time being their focus remains linked to Company of Heroes 2.
