On Friday night, the thousands of fans and members of the media in attendance at Comic-Con 2015 in San Diego were pleasantly surprised to see that the announced “Star Wars” panel included surprise appearances from the cast members of the original films, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher.
This was Harrison Ford’s first public appearance since the plane crash in March this year, when he force-landed his vintage aircraft shortly after takeoff because of a malfunction.
In December this year, Disney is releasing the first film in the “Star Wars” franchise after the acquisition of the rights from LucasFilm. “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” is co-written and directed by J.J. Abrams, who had to drop out of directing the third “Star Trek” movie for it.
The Comic-Con panel focused mostly on topics like practical effects and paying attention to the originals while expanding the universe.
Shortly afterwards, Disney released a Comic-Con 2015 reel, which you can also find embedded below. Even if you’re not a diehard fan of the iconic film franchise, chances are it might get you a tad emotional: the amount of love and passion and dedication that went into making “The Force Awakens” is truly something else.
Enjoy!
