14 DAY TRIAL // CryoFall, the sci-fi simulation sandbox with online survival and RPG mechanics developed by AtomicTorch, will be leaving Steam Early Access on April 29, publisher Daedalic announced this week.
During its two-years tenure in Early Access, CryoFall received numerous and sizeable content and quality of life updates. So, it makes sense to get another one at full release, which is happening later this month. Those who already own the game should expect a bunch of balancing updates, as well as new biomes, creatures, items, technologies, and quests.
Fans of the genre will most likely find the game quite appealing, at least on paper. In CryoFall, players attempt to settle on a forgotten planet by mastering agriculture, industry, trading, exploration, and more while building and living within a complex society.
Naturally, you'll be starting in the primitive stone age, and progress through a massive technology tree that should lead your colony up to the space age, from hatchets and crossbows to battle mechs and plasma rifles.
Now, if you're not into multiplayer but like the rest of the game's features, we have good news: CryoFall offers dedicated PvE servers for those who like their colonization experience to be peaceful. Obviously, PvP servers will be live for players who enjoy not just battling their environment but also each other.
Here are just a couple of interesting mechanics that players should expect: complex crafting and industry, technology progression through the ages, farming with crop growth simulation, electricity system with power grid simulation, civilian and military vehicles, bionic and cybernetic implants to augment your character, a player-driven economy with currency issuance, complex trading, and much more.
Since CryoFall launched in Early Access back in 2019, the game is already available for purchase, but if you want to wait until release, you can wishlist it via Steam.
