Autonauts is a quirky, delightful colonization sim where players must colonize procedurally-generated planets by making use of the fully programmable AI helpers. You'll be coding AI to do the tasks you want, but you won't actually the write any code lines in Autonauts. Instead, you'll show your worker bots what you want from them, be it cooking, farming, mining, construction or anything else.

Bear in mind though that each worker bot has enough memory to store a certain number of routines, which they will carry out until it is complete or they run out of power. Developer Denki claims their upcoming game mixes the very best of agriculture, simulation, crafting, and production-line genres, and has been designed to suit any level of player skill and age.

Autonauts features a Campaign Mode that introduces all elements of the game and guides players to the “endgame” via specific goals. There are two other modes that you can play – Free Mode, where all structures are unlocked straight away, and Creative Mode where players have unlimited resources to create the settlement of their dreams.

If you're the social type of gamer, you'll be happy to know that each world created in Autonauts has its own seed which can be shared with other players. On top of that, all robot routines can also be outputted into a jpeg so that you can share freely with your friends.

Published by Curve Digital, Autonauts has the highest number of wishlists of any game they've brought to market thus far, including titles like Human Fall Flat, For the King, and The Flame in the Flood.

If Autonauts piqued your interest, then you won't have to wait too long to play it. Curve Digital and Denki Studios announced this week that their unique AI coding management sim Autonauts will launch exclusively for PC via Steam on October 17, priced at £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99.
