Collabora Productivity team was pleased to announce today, May 23, 2017, the general availability of the first point release to the recently launched Collabora Online 2.1 office suite based on LibreOffice Online.

Based on the Collabora Office 5.3 office suite, Collabora Online 2.1 was released earlier this month, along with Collabora Online Development Edition (CODE) 2.1, adding many improvements to both interoperability and scalability, as well as many new features and enhancements that you can view in our report.

Today, Collabora Online 2.1.1 was announced as the first point release in the series, an update that looks to implement an active cell reference (Name Box) in the Calc (spreadsheet editor) component, improve animation of comments, as well as make the State of the Change tracking visible in the menu through check marks.

Calc also received numerous usability improvements, and it seams that users can now edit new file types, such as HTML or PDF. Support for seccomp’s Berkley Packet Filters was also implemented in Collabora Online 2.1.1 to drastically restrict the surface of kernel's APIs that are available to the contained document processes.

Content Security Policy updates, CODE 2.1.1

Also improved in Collabora Online 2.1.1 is the Content Security Policy, which now includes the Referer for easier integration in multi-host environments. As expected, lots of reported issues were patched in this update, which comes together with the release of Collabora Online Development Edition (CODE) 2.1.1.

"The development edition is aimed at home users and contains the latest and greatest developments. We want as many people as possible to try it out and get back control of their own online documents. We’d also love to get people involved in our efforts to make LibreOffice Online even better," reads today's announcement.

An online demo is now available if you want to try Collabora Online yourself, and you can also download the Docker image of Collabora Online Development Edition (CODE) 2.1.1 to enjoy using LibreOffice in the cloud at home. The Collabora Online 2.1.1 update should be available for free for all customers running Collabora Online 2.1.
