14 DAY TRIAL // Kaia Gerber is only 13 but she’s so beautiful and so much like her mother, Cindy Crawford, that she already landed her first modeling gig and her first “grown-up” cover for fashion bible Vogue magazine, the Italian edition.

Kaia is gorgeous, has a bright future ahead
Kaia was signed to IMG Models, with the agency breaking the news of the deal on social media. With it, it also revealed the first shot of her Vogue Italia spread, shot by Steven Meisel.
Cindy followed it up with another photo and a joke about how she should be “watching [her] back” because Kaia was coming for her supermodel crown. She must hear that Kaia is just like her when she first started at 16 all the time, but it’s not like she has anything to worry about: Cindy remains one of the most iconic models of all times, part of the ‘90s generation of supermodels.
Of course, because good looks run in the family, Kaia has modeled before, so it’s not like she’s inexperienced before the camera. Just in 2012, she was the face of Versace’s children’s line and was such a professional on set that Donatella Versace herself praised her publicly, saying she had her mother’s “very special gift.”
An early start
Some might think that Kaia is too young to start modeling at 13, and clearly, there was a time when her own mother thought so too.
In an older interview, Cindy said that she would like it if Kaia waited until she was 17 before she started modeling. Cindy herself started when she was 16 and probably a piece of her wished she had waited a while longer.
Whatever the reason she wanted Kaia to wait a few more years, she has had a change of heart. Perhaps she saw the potential in her, just like IMG Models did.
The name of the agency might not ring a bell with people outside the industry, but to those inside, it does. Getting signed with them is a feat in and of itself, as this is the same agency repping the likes of Kate Moss, Karlie Kloss, and Joan Smalls.
Kaia is in excellent company.
