The Kickstarter campaign seems to be quite successful

When Pathfinder: Kingmaker was released two years ago, the game was a complete mess. However, Owlcat Games, the Russian studio behind the computer RPG, promised to fix it in just a couple of months. Unlike other developers, they manage to turn Pathfinder: Kingmaker into one of the best cRPGs in many years.

After splitting from My.Games last year, Owlcat's former parent and partner company, the studio managed to secure $1 million in funding for a second Pathfinder game back in December. Even so, the Russian game developer decided to go to Kickstarter with its new game and ask for additional funding from fans of the genre.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is close to exceeding the $1 million funding mark on Kickstarter, an impressive achievement considering Owlcat Games only asked for $300,000 to finish the game. Several goals have already been funded, further enhancing the game, including two new classes (Warpriest and Skald), a new companion, mounted combat (Cavalier class), additional mythic paths, a new race, and improved animal companions.

Owlcat's new game, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is a classic isometric party-based computer RPG, in which players embark on a journey to a realm overrun by demons and rise to power by choosing one of six available Mythic Paths: Angel, Lich, Trickster, Aeon, Demon, and Azata.

The game is based on the Pathfinder first edition ruleset and lets players create any character imaginable by choosing one of ten races, picking a particular class out of the 21 available, each with five archetypes for even deeper customization.

Recently, Chris Avellone confirmed that he will join Owlcat Games as a writer. This is the second collaboration between the two parties after Avellone lend a hand with Pathfinder: Kingmaker two years ago. Hopefully, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous won't repeat the mistakes of the Owlcat's first game, although we're convinced that if the history will repeat itself, the game will be fixed quite fast.
