If you’re in the market for a 2-in-1 device, you probably noticed there are lots of models to choose from, as pretty much every Microsoft partner out there created their own versions to benefit from the growing demand for this form factor.

Chuwi is one of the companies that impressed from the very beginning, as it managed to mix the 2-in-1 device with decent hardware and Windows 10 power, building devices that were super-affordable and which offered the functionality of more expensive products.

In its attempt to fight with the big guys, including here Microsoft and Apple, Chuwi is now readying the CoreBook, a 2-in-1 model that is supposed to bring an even more premium experience to its users.

The device will boast a 13.3-inch full HD screen featuring an OGS fully laminated panel, which CHUWI says should not only reduce reflections, but also contribute to overall image quality. Power comes from an Intel Core 7th generation processor (Intel Core M) paired with 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage.

Cool keyboard, fast charging, and more

The CoreBook features 4K video hardware decoding, comes with a pen that supports 1024 pressure levels, and even integrates a fingerprint sensor that Chuwi calls “Touch ID,” similar to Apple’s own tech available on the iPhone, despite this possibly becoming a trademark violation.

And that’s not all. The Chinese equipped the CoreBook with a 2-in-1 keyboard that integrates a kickstand for easy adjustments, but also with a 37Wh battery that supports fast charging.

While it all sounds good on paper, don’t look for buying links just yet. In order to start mass production of this Microsoft Surface and Apple MacBook rival, Chuwi needs your support, so the company will launch an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign on November 15 to raise the money for the project.

It remains to be seen how successful this campaign will be, but judging from previous projects, there’s no doubt the CoreBook will enter mass-production in just a few months.
