Seven updates are coming to the game next year

Children of Morta is one of my favorite games this year, so I was quite excited when I learned that the folks at Dead Mage have big plans for 2020. Alongside publisher 11 bit studios, the studio revealed the 2020 roadmap for Children of Morta, which includes a lot of free content and a paid DLC.

The story-driven rogue-lite RPG managed to break even on its development costs after only three days on the market, so it's no wonder that the developers plan to add even more content to the game, even though most of it will be free.

I believe that the most important gameplay feature that will be released next year is online co-op, which will allow Children of Morta players to join their friends while dungeon crawling. Apart from that, we will also be getting random encounters, so even more unique experiences for those who already started a second or third playthrough.

The so-called Shrine of Challenge update will be the first to drop next year and will introduce the hard difficulty, as well as an item pack with more than 20 new items including Charms, Divine Graces and Divine Relics.

The second Children of Morta update coming next year, Setting Sun Inn adds New Game+ mode in which players carry their unlocked characters, skill tree, Morv, and Workshop Upgrades into a new playthrough after completing the game.

A new playable character will be added to the game when the third update hits, whereas the fourth will add the online co-op mode. Temple of the Endless update contains a series of arenas with waves of enemies, mini-bosses, and a new boss. This Endless Mode will support online co-op.

The Treasure update will bring more than 30 new items including Charms, Divine Graces and Divine Relics as developers prepare for the fifth and last piece of new content, which is The Uncharted Lands DLC. The next journey for the Bergson family will be a brand new DLC chapter with a main quest and a home event, another playable hero, new enemies, and a new boss.
