This career switch sounds very familiar, doesn't it?

Recently, law enforcement officers in China at long last tracked down and arrested a drug dealer they had been investigating and trying to locate since back in March.

They found him hiding in an apartment in the city of Nanning. When searching the place, they came across about 31.5 kilograms (nearly 70 pounds) of meth and 185 kilograms (410 pounds) of ingredients used to make the drug.

Then, they also discovered a high pressure cooker and all sorts of other equipment the man had been using to cook meth for himself and anyone willing to buy some.

Meet China's very own Walter White

What's interesting is that, according to the police report detailing this case, this drug dealer was once a chemistry teacher. Apparently, he quit his job to cook and sell meth sometime in 2012, after becoming addicted to the drug himself.

If this career switch sounds familiar, that's because it's also the plot of “Breaking Bad.” That's right, it looks like authorities in China now have the country's very own Walter White in custody.

The only difference is that, when he first took up meth, this guy had no idea how to make it. He did some research though and, soon enough, figured out the right recipe and fashioned himself a laboratory fit to deliver the best product.

“It was the most advanced and complete equipment we’ve ever found in a drug making den,” a spokesperson for the local police in Nanning explained in an interview, as cited by Oddity Central.

How the man was finally arrested

The officers who handled this case explain that, some time ago, they learned about a new drug trafficking operation in the region. They managed to identity and then arrest a few dealers, who then led them to the chemistry teacher.

The man would never use his real name when doing business. Rather, he would introduce himself a Lumou. All the same, authorities eventually figured out who he really was and arrested him.
