CheetahPhone is the result of the collaboration between Cubot, a somewhat popular Chinese handset, and Cheetah Mobile, a mobile applications developer known for Clean Master and CM Security apps.

The co-branded smartphone will be available in the EU (European Union) beginning in April, but customers will be able to pre-order it on March 20, PhoneRadar reports.

The CheetahPhone will be available for purchase in Europe for just €200 outright, and it will sell through Amazon. Later on, the smartphone will be introduced in Africa, but there's no mention of price for that region.

Specs-wise, the CheetahPhone looks like a mid-range smartphone, but when it comes to design it looks like a premium phone.

According to Cubot, the smartphone comes equipped with a 1.5GHz octa-core MediatTek MT6753 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. There's no mention of microSD card slot, but the company claims users will have 10GB of cloud storage at their disposal.

Furthermore, CheetahPhone sports a larger 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

At the back, the upcoming handset packs a 13-megapixel photo snapper with Samsung sensor, whereas in the front there's a secondary 8-megapixel selfie camera. There's no word on the battery capacity, but if you plan on getting this one information is likely to appear on the seller's website.

Some extra features on the software side

When it comes to software, the smartphone will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box. It will also come preloaded with Cubot apps optimized and improved by Cheetah Mobile.

The Cubot Launcher has been greatly improved and the Gallery application will come with a Wi-Fi transfer feature that will allow users to exchange images and video between devices much faster.

According to Cubot, the CheetahPhone has been especially designed to work with all major European carriers, but we recommend our reader to check with their operator before purchasing the smartphone.
