Circular and sharp Time Round has merely two days lifespan

After blowing people's minds with Pebble Time and keeping the fun going with Pebble Time Steel, the company decided that the old squarish design is too passe, so it launched a third Pebble watch, this time rounded.

Called, obviously, Pebble Time Round, this little fancy thing is the company's first smartwatch with a circular face. Not only is it round in design, but it's also thinner and lighter at 7.5mm thick and 28 grams, respectively, and it is compatible with two strap size options (14mm and 20mm widths).

As the Moore's Law doesn't really apply to watches, well not entirely, you can't have a slimmer design and the same battery size as well, so the slim profile means that it won't run nearly as long as other models on a single charge, so this means approximately two days versus 10 with the Time Steel. This "feature" also means that its quick 15-minute charge can extend runtime by up to 24 hours.

It's a classier Pebble Time smartwatch through and through

Currently, the watch models come in black, silver or rose gold color schemes, with a variety of leather and stainless steel bands to choose from. Display-wise, it uses the same e-ink technology as the previous models, and obviously, it is also compatible with Android and iOS handsets.

Interestingly enough, the Pebble design became rather famous for its simple and colorful layout, having an intrinsic elegance that users can find only in hybrid or mechanical watches. The colorful e-ink makes the smartwatch even more attractive while the screen remains crystal clear and accurate.

Pricewise, users can pre-order the Time Round with pricing starting at $249.99, which is an excellent price for a full-fledged smartwatch, even though it has lesser battery life than the previous Pebble Time. Considering the smartwatches nowadays cost well over $300, with even the elegant Wena hybrid watch from Sony hitting at least $325, it kind of makes the new elegant Pebble Time Round a must buy for users.

Unfortunately, the low battery life will show its ugly face eventually and the need to carry your charger everywhere you go will become frustrating for the Time Round users.
