Just a few days after informing the community about the plans for the upcoming Chapeau 24 "Cancellara" GNU/Linux distribution, developer Vince Pooley is now releasing the first Beta milestone into the wild.

Yes, you're reading it right, a first Beta of Chapeau 24 "Cancellara" is now available for download so you can get an early taste of those awesome new features that we revealed for our readers in an initial report. And, as expected, the development release is based on the Fedora 24 operating system and ships with Linux 4.7 kernel.

"Today a pre-release version of Chapeau 24 has been made available for download. If you’ve been eagerly waiting for the latest Chapeau release based on Fedora 24 now’s your time. If you don’t want to deal with any of the known issues listed below you may want to stick with Chapeau 23 for now," says Vince Pooley in the release announcement.

Chapeau 24 "Cancellara" Beta now available for download

A 64-bit Live ISO image of the Chapeau 24 "Cancellara" Beta release is now available for download, and you should get it if you want to help the developer find bugs and other annoyances that must be removed before the final build of the GNU/Linux operating system hits the streets, something that might happen in the coming months.

If you're testing it, please try to keep in mind that the Nouveau video driver included doesn't support Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 graphics cards. Therefore, to make the Live ISO image boot on your system, you'll have to use the "basic graphics mode" parameter before booting the OS. Also, please note that not all desktop shortcuts have an icon.
