Asus Zenfone Zoom was officially unveiled about a year ago at CES 2015, but the smartphone only made its debut on the market last month.

However, customers in the United States will have to wait a few more weeks if they want to grab the camera-oriented smartphones, as Asus announced at CES 2016 that it would bring the Zenfone Zoom in the country next month.

According to Asus, Zenfone Zoom will be available for purchase in the United States via major retailer B&H Photo. Customers will be able to grab the phone for $400 outright beginning February 1.

Asus claims the reason for the delay is the fact that the team of engineers have taken their time to develop and fine-tune the technology behind the phone's rear-facing camera.

Also, the company said the Zenfone Zoom is the world's slimmest smartphone that features 3x optical zoom camera at just 11.95mm.

The smartphone boasts a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back which features f/2.7-f/4.8 aperture, laser autofocus, dual-LED flash, 3x optical zoom and OIS (optical image stabilization).

Fast charging technology and NFC option included as well

Asus Zenfone Zoom comes equipped with a powerful 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3590 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Also, the smartphone sports a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating.

The Zenfone Zoom will be powered by a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery and should provide users with many connectivity options such as 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support.

Asus also confirmed the Zenfone Zoom would ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with ZenUI on top of it.
