CCleaner, which continues to be one of the most powerful Windows apps that can keep your computer in tip-top shape, has just received an update that improves compatibility with several browsers, such as Google Chrome and Opera.

Version 5.14.5493 comes with a new browser plugin section for browser start-up management, which gives users better control over the plugins they have installed for their browsers. And speaking of browsers, both Google Chrome and Opera have now received better session cleaning capabilities too.

At the same time, the new version brings improved Disk Analyzer file scanning processor, but also enhanced cleaning for some apps, including TeamViewer and PDF Creator.

Windows 10 app support

Although this version doesn’t bring any new improvements to Windows 10, CCleaner already works with the new operating system and offers full support for the pre-installed apps and Edge browser.

CCleaner can thus remove Edge files, cache and cookies just like for any other browser, such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

Furthermore, it features Windows 10 registry cleaning tools, which certainly come in handy if you’re a hardcore computer user that installs app every once in a while. Third-party software usually leaves all kinds of unnecessary files behind after the uninstalling process, so CCleaner can help you get rid of them and restore full performance of your computer.

If you’re afraid that system optimization tools such as CCleaner could have an impact on your system’s stability, they usually don’t, but you can also create a system backup or a restore point to make sure you’re on the safe side all the time. So in case something goes wrong, you can always restore your PC to a previous state.

All in all, this continues to be one of the best apps to use your computer to its maximum potential, so go ahead and download CCleaner to benefit from all of today’s improvements.
