A system is being developed to tackle this problem

One of the biggest problems for Street Fighter V consists of players that quit a game before the end of the match, but Capcom says that it’s going to fix it.

Like any competitive game, Street Fighter V has its fair share of problems, but none of them seems to be as important as rage quitting. Players who are about to lose abandon the game right before the end, which is annoying to say the least.

This is not the first game to be confronted with this problem and it won’t be the last, but this is the kind of filter that you build into the game before the official release. Capcom has been accused of launching the game before it was ready, so this lack of control over rage quitters might be one of the missing features.

People will be people

There are many ways of dealing with rage quitters and Capcom can learn a thing or two from Electronic Arts. For example, in FIFA games, if you rage quit, it doesn’t mean the match didn’t count. The result of the match is determined automatically. Also, the matchmaking service will ensure that you are paired with people that have the same behavior.

“We are working on a permanent solution to this problem, though we don’t have an exact date to share with you at the moment. That said, we are going to take direct action starting next week to punish those players who are abusing the system. This punishment will be severe for the worst offenders, but we will need the community’s help with this,” a Capcom developer wrote.

The studio will need the help of the community and they have asked for people to record any evidence of rage quitting. Providing video evidence is a crucial part of the process and it doesn’t matter how it’s done.

In any case, it looks like it’s going to be a system different from that of other games, and the input of users will likely be needed to report rage quitters.
