The rumored Call of Duty battle royale mode is finally official and judging by what Activision says, it looks like this will be the ultimate battle royale game. Dubbed Warzone, the new Call of Duty battle royale mode will go live on March 10 and will be free for all players, even those who don't own Modern Warfare.

However, players who already own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have all weapons, operators and cosmetic items that they have unlocked in the game available in Warzone too. What's so special about Call of Duty: Warzone?

Well, the first thing that crosses to mind is the huge map that can accommodate more than 100 players during a single match. The action takes place across the expansive and dense city of Verdansk, which features no less than 300 points of interest and a wide range of landscapes tailored for different types of engagement.

Five different vehicles will be available in the battle royale mode: ATVs, Tactical Rovers, SUVs, Cargo Trucks, and Helicopters. Moreover, Warzone will have two game modes at launch that require different strategies.

The standard Battle Royale mode pits a team of three against all other squads in a quest to be the last team standing. On the other hand, in Plunder, a respawn mode, players race to collect the most cash which can be found across the map or gained by eliminating opponents or completing contracts, objective-based tasks that reward money and other loot.

In celebration of launch day, Activision announced that PlayStation Plus players will be able to get the exclusive and free Call of Duty: Warzone Combat Pack at PlayStation Store. Keep in mind that Warzone will go live on March 10 starting at 8 am PDT for owners of the full version of Modern Warfare, while the rest of the players will be able to download it starting at 12 pm PDT.
