Activision revealed plans for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta, which will be coming to all gaming platforms. However, not everyone will be able to play the beta at the same time.

The first to experience the re-imagining are PlayStation 4 players around the world, followed by Xbox One and PC players one week later.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta debuts on September 12 on PlayStation 4 and runs through September 16. The first two days of the weekend, September 12 and 13, are available for early access to players who have pre-ordered Modern Warfare on PlayStation 4.

The rest of the beta period from September 14 to September 16 is free to all PlayStation 4 owners and doesn't require a PlayStation Plus subscription, except if you're living in Germany.

The second beta test weekend is for all players and should run between September 19 and September 23. PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC owners can play the open beta regardless of pre-ordered status. More importantly, this beta test includes cross-play.

Here is how you can redeem your Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta key:

code
1. Access https://www.callofduty.com/redeem
2. Log in via PlayStation, Xbox, Battle.net or Activision account. If you don't have one, you'll have to create one before accessing the Call of Duty registration page.
3. Once you're logged, you can redeem the code. Make sure to select the platform and region before submitting the beta code.
It's unclear what players will be able to access during the beta, but we're certain they'll be able to play the 2v2 Gunfight mode and the 6v6 standard multiplayer more. According to Activision, additional content (i.e. maps, modes) will be released during over the weekends.

Activision and Infinity Ward will release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 25.
