Video game developer Treyarch and publisher Activision are getting ready for the big multiplayer beta period for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and a new video designed to show gamers the nature of the maps they will be able to do battle on is being offered.

The list of maps includes Hunted, Combine and Evac, each of them with a different design for the environment and a structure that will allow gamers to try out new tactics.

The new video comes from the official Twitter account of the series and offers only a glimpse of the maps, with gamers able to get a full look when the multiplayer beta actually starts.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will go into testing on August 19 on the PlayStation 4 and one week later on the Xbox One and the PC.

Treyarch says that it wants fans to play as many matches as possible to gather data about the maps, the modes and the Specialists that are involved.

All the feedback will be used by the studio in the coming period in order to improve the core gameplay and to make sure that the quality of the title is solid when it is launched for all players.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 also offers single-player and cooperative action

A lot of the appeal of the franchise is linked to the competitive multiplayer, which is why Treyarch and Activision are testing it in the coming weeks.

But Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will also offer a single-player campaign that the development team wants to make more engaging than anything the series has offered before.

And Treyarch is also returning to its love of the undead to introduce a zombie-focused cooperative campaign called Shadows of Evil.

While the rest of the shooter will use a futuristic theme, it is designed to take place in a stylized version of the '40s that features characters with unique powers and some cool looking enemies.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be out on the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One on November 6 of this year, and gamers who have older consoles will also be able to get versions of the shooter that lack some of the features.
