The development team at Treyarch and publisher Activision probably know that there is a little more than two weeks until the launch date of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, but the two companies are still ready to release a gameplay launch trailer for the first-person shooter.

Fans of the series can take a look at close to a minute of footage that includes a peek at all the core experiences that the game will deliver.

The single player of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is focused on 2065 and events in Singapore that will lead to the start of a new Cold War, with the player having to use his genetically and technologically enhanced powers in order to find his missing squadmates and uncover a larger conspiracy.

Treyarch has said that it wants to create a narrative that explores the meaning of humanity during a period when soldiers need to be improved in order to become more efficient but are at a risk of losing their personalities and feelings in the process.

Gamers can expect some highly dramatic sequences in the single player for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and for the first time in the history of the franchise gamers can play cooperatively, working as a squad in order to tackle the various challenges.

Treyarch is known for their undead-focused content, and for the coming title they are creating a separate Shadows of Evil campaign, which will take gamers to Morg City in the 1940s, allowing them to take the role of one of four characters that need to deal with a zombie assault.

Hollywood talent is involved, and the company says that they will need to carefully mix their powers and combine the power of their weapons to take out new enemies and bosses.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will live and die on the strength of its multiplayer

A lot of gamers might play single-player and zombie-based modes, but Treyarch knows that in the long term the competitive element of the shooter is what matters and what will generate sales once the initial excitement of the launch ends.

A new movement system is implemented in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 so that gamers can execute a range of new moves that allow them to traverse environments in new ways and surprise their enemies by attacking from a surprising position.

For the first time, gamers are also adding a new character system linked to Specialists, with nine templates that have both unique weapons and powers.

Since the beta, Treyarch has explained that it has tweaked some of the core mechanics and that it plans to continue delivering updates based on data gathered and player feedback.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be offered on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 on November 6.

Gamers can also get access to a version of the game for older home consoles, but it will not include the single-player campaign because of technical limitations.
