Bruce Jenner has legally been erased. A judge signed off on the petition to change the name and gender, from male to female, filed by Caitlyn Jenner, aka the world’s most famous trans-woman right now.

Caitlyn made her first public appearance in June this year, on the cover of Vanity Fair, following a Diane Sawyer ABC special in April, in which Olympian and reality star Bruce Jenner announced that “for all intents and purposes, I am a woman.”

Caitlyn Marie Jenner is legally recognized

After these 2 media outings, Jenner started shooting the docuseries that aired on E!, I Am Cait, which showed how she was adjusting to her new life and her new status as a role model and hero for the entire LGBT community.

Caitlyn Jenner is the first celebrity to make their transition public in this way, offering viewers at home a good look at her new life, its problems and dilemmas, and the challenges she came across.

Scenes showed her being introduced to other trans-women and being made aware of the issues the trans-community dealt with on a daily basis, but also talking about dating again after the divorce from Kris Jenner and worrying she might look good enough for her first public outing in a bathing suit, as a woman.

Getting legal recognition was only the final step in a long process, and she got it on Friday, from an LA Superior Court, TMZ reports.

The judge signed off on the new name, “Caitlyn Marie Jenner,” but also on the gender change. Caitlyn was not in court when this happened, but she’s probably celebrating it at home, with family and friends.

“The judge didn't say it in court, but Caitlyn's request to legally change her gender was also approved,” TMZ adds. “We're told judges typically do NOT mention gender changes on the record out of respect for the applicant.”

Caitlyn Jenner will probably be back on TV

The docuseries I Am Cait wasn’t a hit in the ratings as E! had hoped it would be, but it was welcomed with very glowing reviews by the media.

This alone would probably be enough to secure a new season, but rumor has it that Caitlyn is thinking of stepping out of the spotlight for a while, because her new show drove her farther apart from her family because of the way they came across on camera.

On the other hand, Jenner has always said that she was happy she was finally able to have her story told on her own terms, so we’d say it’s very likely that she will agree to do a second season of the docuseries if E! offers her one.
