The changes might be extended soon to other playlists

The development team at Bungie has been working hard during the past few weeks to make the matchmaking system in Destiny better, and the studio is now saying that the settings that were featured in the Iron Banner during the previous week are now also live in Skirmish.

The official Twitter account announcement explains that they are still gathering data at the moment to see what the impact on latency is and might then expand the same ideas to other playlists, although at the moment it's unclear which ones the company is referring to.

There were three different sets of matchmaking tweaks delivered to Iron Banner before it ended today and the community is still debating which of them managed to deliver the best performance.

Bungie aims to make it much easier for players to find matches fast in Destiny and that means it is placing less of an emphasis on skill and is prioritizing connection strength to make sure that latency is no longer a problem for the majority of the community.

If any other playlists get new settings that will probably happen before the launch of the new Crimson Days event on February 9.

The fan base was pretty upset when the studio revealed that it tweaked some matchmaking settings without making an official announcement to get clean data and has promised that it will communicate any changes from now on and will listen closely to all feedback.

Destiny is getting a Valentine's Day themed event for the first time

Gamers will be able to take part in a new Crimson Double experience, which is designed for teams of two players and features a Broken Heart power allowing the partner of a downed gamer to get improved stats as he seeks to get revenge and win a match.

Crimson Days also features a range of rewards for Guardians as well as a new set of emotes that are being introduced via the Eververse Trading Company.

The entire event will run for a week, and Bungie has also said that it plans to deliver a bigger content drop later in the spring, which should be equal in size to The Taken King expansion.

This might mean that strikes and a new raid, which the community has long been asking for, might be introduced for Destiny and some fans speculate that a major re-balance effort for the three featured classes is also planned.

Recently Bungie has also announced that it has taken disciplinary action against some of the players who have been caught cheating and aims to continue such policing efforts in the future to make sure that the experience remains as fair as possible.

It seems that more content for the social shooter will be delivered all through the year, with a rumor saying that, initially, a Destiny sequel was set to arrive on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 in September 2016 and has since then been delayed in order to make sure that the quality is the one gamers expect from it.
