Gamers will still benefit from solid communication

Video game developer Bungie has already announced a range of tweaks and events that are coming to Destiny in the coming weeks to deal with some of the long-term problems the player base has been mentioning and to make sure that gamers remain engaged with the social shooter.

But much of the title's gameplay is centered around groups of players who can meet online, prepare a strategy and then work together in the various modes to gain solid results and extra equipment for their Guardians.

The studio is also trying to make sure that solo players can enjoy Destiny and is planning to introduce a new set of Freelance playlists, which are both 6 versus 6 and 3 versus 3 mixed mode options where only players who are not part of a Fireteam can gain access.

Jeremiah Pieschl, a game designer at Bungie, explains on the official site, that the design process was focused on balance, adding "Both teams will be on equal ground though an advantage can be gained by opening a voice channel to Team Chat. A secondary goal was to provide playlists with a wider variety of engagements. Featuring mixed-modes with all of their associated maps means players will have a much more diverse experience and see less repetition in the combinations selected by matchmaking."

The 6 versus 6 Freelance options will include Clash, Control, and Rift and the 3 versus 3 one will offer Elimination, Salvage, and Skirmish.

Bungie says that the new options for solo players will be open next week, which probably means that it is being deployed with the update associated with the coming Crimson Days event.

Destiny is also getting improved matchmaking and special ammo modifications

The development team is clearly trying to make sure that players get the best possible experience when it comes to finding other players, with the changes tested in Iron Banner and then applied to Skirmish, Rumble, Trials of Osiris and Control.

Bungie says that it will continue to improve the other playlists and that it also wants gamers to deliver feedback so that it has all the data it needs to introduce even more tweaks in the future.

On February 9, gamers will get access to a new Crimson Days event, which is linked to Valentine's Day and will run for one week, with the centerpiece of the experience being a new mode that delivers 2 versus 2 battles with a new Broken Heart ability for those gamers who lose a partner in the heat of an engagement.

Gamers can also get access to shaders, a new emblem as well as more emotes via the Eververse Trading Company.

According to Bungie, it plans to also tweak the way special ammo is offered for some game modes to deliver a more engaging experience.

A bigger content drop for Destiny is planned for this spring, and the company apparently plans to deliver about the same amount of content as in The Taken King expansion, although no plans for new strikes or raid have been offered so far.
