Concept envisions a completely overhauled Photos look

The Windows 10 Photos app replaces the original image viewer that was available in previous Windows versions and obviously comes with a series of improvements, including a fresh look that aligns with what you can find in the operating system.

But on the other hand, it’s also not a secret that many expect the Photos app to come with an even more modern design, especially as the software giant is so committed to the Fluent Design system makeover.

This concept published on Twitter by Zee-Al-Eid Ahmad Rana is just the living proof in this regard, and not only that it serves as confirmation users expect Microsoft to overhaul its apps, but it also proposes a way to do the whole thing.

Modern UI and new features

The concept includes both a more modern design for the Photos app and a bunch of new features, as it’s the case of the so-called “Watch this month.” And certainly, such an approach can be further enhanced with the addition of even more new features, and Microsoft certainly has the resources to make the whole thing happen.

The sidebar design proposed by the concept also comes in handy to easily browse photos, with pre-designed categories like collections, people, locations, recents, favorites, and video projects. And of course, you can group photos in your very own albums (which you can create and manage like regular folders), with similar options available for video projects too.

Certainly, this concept is one of the best I’ve seen so far for the Photos app, but on the other hand, you really shouldn’t expect Microsoft to go for such a dramatic facelift anytime soon. If anything, Microsoft truly needs to check out all these ideas to figure out the best way to improve Windows 10 and its apps.
