14 DAY TRIAL // Bounty Battle is an upcoming beat-em-up with a twist. It gathers together some of the most iconic protagonists from popular indie games like Darkest Dungeon, Dead Cells, Owlboy, and Guacamelee! Well, these are just some of the games that lend their heroes to Bounty Battle, but there are a lot more.
Developed by French developer Dark Screen Games, Bounty Battle will be launched on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The simplest description for Bounty Battle is that it's a 2D fighter for 1-4 players, where you can pit your favorite indie heroes against one another.
Announced during Nintendo's showcase earlier today, Bounty Battle features over 25 fighters from over 20 different indie games and each fighter comes with their own minion companion and unique abilities. The game lets players battle across levels inspired by the fighters’ native game worlds with up to 3 other players.
We've already mentioned some of the indie games that are present in Bounty Battle due to their characters, but here are more: Awesomenauts, Nuclear Throne, Axiom Verge, SteamWorld Dig, Oddmar, Jotun, Battle Chasers Nightwar, Death's Gambit, EITR, Super Comboman, Pankapu, Flinthook, Doko Roko, Tower of Samsara, Blubber Busters, Ruin of the Reckless, The Bug Butcher, and Blocks that Matter.
Bounty Battle will feature a host of game modes at launch, including a Story Mode, Couch Multiplayer, Practise, and Tutorial, which will allow players to easily identify their favorite playstyle.
There will be more than 20 characters to choose from, each with their own move set and special attacks. Also, as mentioned above, each fighter will have their very own minion to summon and join the fight.
Not to mention that fights will take place across more than 10 arenas, some plucked from the worlds of their fighters. And for those who want to customize their characters, the game will offer multiple color and palette swap options to fight in style.
