Gearbox has just revealed that the Bloody Harvest seasonal event will return to Borderlands 3 this Halloween. Players will be able to get revenge on the fearsome Captain Haunt and his minions, as well as gain new rewards until November 5.

Players who wish to take part in the limited-time event must search for Maurice aboard Sanctuary III, who will give them the mission to collect Hecktoplasm from the ghosts that spawn when they kill haunted enemies. These are marked in the game with a telltale green glow and can be found throughout the galaxy.

Bloody Harvest doesn't require players to own any of the DLCs, but these ghostly foes can also be found in locations that have been added in many of the game's expansions, including The Handsome Jackpot, Xylourgos, Gehenna, and even Krieg's Mind. Once these haunted enemies are killed, they will spawn specters, which players must kill to collect the previous Hecktoplasm.

When players finish collecting enough Hecktoplasm, Maurice will open a portal to Heck, the abode of Captain Haunt. It's here where players must complete challenges that will allow them to unlock new Bloody Harvest items.

Challenges can be viewed at any time via a special tab in the ECHO Device. It's important to mention that this year's challenges are less grindy and much easier to achieve, so that should be another reason to not skip getting the rewards.

Depending on the number of challenges completed, players will be awarded various items like weapon trinkets and skins. It's worth adding that loot collected in Heck scales to the player's level and may include powerful “Terror” anointments that turn debuffs into boons.

Just like all the game's seasonal events, players have the option to opt-in or out of Bloody Harvest Returns via the Main Menu. The seasonal event is now live in Borderlands 3 and, as mentioned earlier, will be available until November 5.
