PC crossplay between Steam and Epic Store confirmed

Gearbox announced two important things at PAX East earlier today. First, Borderlands 3 will be coming to Steam next month, and the second, a new expansion will be launched in late March across all platforms.

Borderlands 3 will be released on Steam on March 13 and Gearbox announced that PC crossplay between Steam and the Epic Games Launcher will be available at launch. Moreover, players will be able to add friends to their Friends List, join co-op parties, and play together online regardless of which PC platform each player is using.

On top of that, Gearbox plans to release even more PC crossplay features, including the ability to mail weapons across platforms, but these will be available in the weeks following the game's launch on Steam.

Apart from the fact that Borderlands 3 will be coming to Steam, Gearbox revealed the game's second campaign expansion – Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock – which will be released on March 26 on all platforms.

Just like Moxxi's Heist of The Handsome Jackpot, the new expansion is included with the Borderlands 3 Season Pass and Super Deluxe Edition, so if you have either of those, it will be free.

In Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock, players will reunite with old friends and team up with some eerie new characters. Also, the expansion brings new bloodthirsty enemies and formidable bosses, including alien beasts, hideously mutated occultists, and a clan of cold-blooded bandits.

Not to mention that there will be a lot of new side missions that will offer players some insight on the backstories of the cursed townfolk. Of course, you can't write about new Borderlands-related content without talking about loot.

The expansion will add a trove of additional Legendaries and some supremely powerful Class Mods. Moreover, a slew of new cosmetic items, from Vault Hunter Heads & Skins to interactive Room Decorations and all-new Vehicle Skins will be available to players across all platforms.

Finally, Gearbox teased Borderlands 3’s third campaign add-on, which will arrive this Summer. The upcoming expansion will feature outlaws and dinosaurs, but that's about all we know so far.
