Samsung increased production of its Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones after it discontinued production of its most advanced smartphone to date, the Galaxy Note 7. The company is now looking to compensate for some missed sales of the Note 7 by attracting customers to some of its other flagships.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge were the main products that caused record earnings for Samsung in the second quarter of this year. The smartphones were offered in multiple color variants, including black, white, gold, silver, and pink gold.

The now discontinued Note 7, though, came in a very appealing color, Blue Coral. It seems that this color variant was the first to go out of stock at retailers and carriers all around the world, being the most popular among costumers.

The Galaxy S7 edge Blue Coral variant might arrive at Verizon

In an attempt to make the Galaxy S7 edge more appealing to consumers, Samsung will launch a Blue Coral variant of the smartphone. An image of the case was spotted on SamsungVN by SamMobile.

The picture shows that the smartphone might be made available through Verizon, since it has the US carrier’s branding on the back. The variant might also be launched in other countries, following its release in the United States. In addition, the variant might make its way to other US carriers as well.

Samsung relies strongly on sales of other smartphones now that its latest flagship is no longer available and underwent such a dramatic demise. However, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer would need to offer discounts for its phones if it wishes to stay competitive on the market.

Meanwhile, Samsung has yet to issue an official statement on the supposed battery problem in Galaxy Note 7 smartphones, and even with a new color variant of its S7 edge flagship, customers might still switch to other manufacturers when it comes to buying a new phone.
