Don't expect the cutscenes to get any improvements though

Blizzard's Warcraft III: Reforged has been received with a lot of criticism from the media and players alike. While the game retains the same classic feel, it's missing a lot of the improvements and features Blizzard promised to include last year.

Not to mention that the company modified the game's EULA in such a way that it forces players who create maps to give up on their intellectual rights. Basically, everything that you create in Warcraft III: Reforged belongs to Blizzard.

It's been less than a week since the game's release and Blizzard has finally responded to fans backlash. The message Blizzard is sending to the community is that it will definitely fix the game, but some of the aspects will remain just like they are right now.

One of the issues that Blizzard will address this week is the visuals when selecting Classic Mode. A bug is causing the colors and shading to look different from the original Warcraft III, but Blizzard managed to replicate the issue and a fix will be delivered in the next patch.

The same patch will address other known issues, like fixing some portrait animations and audio bugs, implementing some UI fixes, and more.

The online features that are missing from the game such as leaderboards and clans will be added in a major patch that will be announced in the coming weeks. As far as the in-game cutscenes go, these will not be improved as previously announced.

As we talked about last year at BlizzCon, we did not want the in-game cutscenes to steer too far from the original game. We went a little deeper into the thought process behind that at the show, but the main takeaway is that the campaigns tell one of the classic stories in Warcraft history, and we want to preserve the true spirit of Warcraft III and allow players to relive these unforgettable moments as they were (albeit rebuilt with new animations and the higher fidelity art).”

Blizzard continues to offer automatic refunds to those disappointed by Warcraft III: Reforged, but it's also trying to save what's left to save. Unfortunately, judging by the fans' reactions, this seems to be a complete blunder.
