This would be the second BlackBerry device running this OS

Great news for those who wanted BlackBerry to adopt the Android operating system, as the Canadian company plans to launch a second device powered by Google's mobile platform.

The so-called BlackBerry Vienna is another Android smartphone that features the company's traditional QWERTY keyboard.

However, unlike BlackBerry PRIV, the Vienna sports a bar form factor. The first press render of the unannounced smartphone has just been leaked online courtesy to CrackBerry.

The picture shows all of the phone's sides, so from what we can see, BlackBerry Vienna will have the same design as the PRIV minus the sliding mechanism.

Even the traditional QWERTY keyboard seems to be of the same size as PRIV's, and probably the display is similar too.

Unfortunately, nothing is known about BlackBerry Vienna's technical specifications, but we do know that it will run Android operating system.

Let's hope it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow

If Vienna is released next year, let's hope the Canadian company will have the inspiration to include Android 6.0 Marshmallow inside instead of a much older version of the platform.

In other news, BlackBerry's CEO John Chen has recently confirmed that his company has a series of products in the pipeline that will follow BlackBerry PRIV.

The only condition would be that PRIV would sell decently well so that BlackBerry could rebuild its smartphone business.

As of now, it looks like BlackBerry PRIV is selling pretty well given the fact that the smartphone is sold out at many retailers.

It appears that PRIV is meant to pave the way for an entire lineup of Android smartphones coming from BlackBerry, but would that be enough for the Canadian company to get back on its feet?

Obviously, that will likely depend on how receptive the audience will be to BlackBerry's new Android smartphones. We expect more details on the Vienna to emerge in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
