The smartphone might not be available until early 2016

If you have been following the BlackBerry Priv news, then you already know that the smartphone only works with T-Mobile and AT&T networks in the United States.

The Priv could support other smaller carriers in the US, but it won't be compatible with some of the largest in the country, namely Verizon and Sprint.

Although BlackBerry Priv is already available for pre-order in the United States, the Canadian company specifically mentioned on the phone's store page that the Priv does not work with Verizon and Sprint networks.

That might seem rather strange since all previous rumors indicated that BlackBerry plans to make the Priv available at all major carriers in the United States.

Even BlackBerry's CEO, John Chen mentioned that during a few interviews, so Verizon and Sprint customers must have been very confused when they saw the announcement on Priv's store page regarding its incompatibility with some carriers.

But fret not, as the BlackBerry Priv will eventually make it to both carriers in the next couple of months, or at least to one of them.

Sprint variant is still MIA

A new live picture leaked via Instagram shows the Verizon version of BlackBerry Priv, which hasn't been announced yet, Crackberry reports.

The carrier's logo can't be seen on the front side of the Priv, but Verizon's name appears in the signal area of the smartphone.

There might be a Verizon logo etched on the phone's back side, but since there's no picture showing that part of the Priv, we can't confirm it yet.

Now the bad news is that the latest rumors claim Verizon won't be selling the BlackBerry Priv until early next year, which means customers who want the smartphone will have to wait a few more months.

There's still no info on Sprint's version of BlackBerry Priv, or whether or not the carrier still plans to launch the device anytime soon.
