Earlier this year, BlackBerry was rumored to launch three Android-running smartphones by the end of 2016 and one of them was already released. BlackBerry DTEK50 was announced a couple of months ago, while the DTEK60 could get an official announcement today.

The third smartphone that BlackBerry could announce this year is internally known as Mercury and carries the BBB100-1 codename. The smartphone was recently spotted on Geekbench by Android Pure and it appears to run Android 7.0 Nougat.

The listing reveals some additional information on the smartphone, like the fact that it seems to be powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, possibly the SD625, clocked at 2.02GHz. The SoC is paired with an Adreno 506 graphics processing unit. The phone appears to come with 3GB of RAM and it scored 913 points in the single-core test and 5047 points in the multi-core one.

BlackBerry Mercury could have a physical QWERTY keyboard

There aren't many details available on the BlackBerry Mercury, but information from a few weeks ago stated that it could come with a physical QWERTY keyboard and 4.5-inch Full HD display. It could also have 32GB of internal storage and a powerful 3,400mAh battery. Rear camera capacity could reach 18MP, with 8MP in the front for snapping selfies and conducting video calls.

Rumors say that BlackBerry could announce the DTEK60 today, but that remains to be seen. Specs for the DTEK60 leaked at multiple retailers and even on the company’s website in the past couple of weeks. The shipping date wasn’t displayed, which is why it’s unsure if the company will announce the phone today.

Nevertheless, the DTEK60 will come with a 5.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, a powerful 21MP camera in the back and an 8MP sensor in the front. In addition, it could have 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The handset will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
