BlackBerry's new QWERTY smartphone is coming, of that we're certain, but TCL, the Chinese company that designed the devices, wants us to have a glimpse of what's to come.

TCL's President and General Manager for North America, Steve Cistully, tweeted a 4-second video teaser yesterday that allowed us to take a look at the BlackBerry Mercury, or DTEK70, the market name of the QWERTY smartphone.

Today, Cistulli released yet another short video teaser of the smartphone that shows what appear to be the metal frames of the BlackBerry Mercury.

BlackBerry Mercury is expected to be officially introduced at CES 2017, which is set to kick off on January 5. However, many companies have already announced their products and the media can already visit the showrooms.

While we don't really know when exactly the Mercury will be announced, it's worth mentioning that CES 2017 is going to end on January 8, but we don't believe TCL and BlackBerry will wait until then for the reveal.

Although it did release two video teasers of the Mercury, Cistulli did not offer any details regarding the phone's specifications. However, we know quite a lot about the upcoming QWERTY smartphone based on previous reports.

If you haven't followed our news feed, here are a couple of things you should know about the BlackBerry Mercury. Aside from the obvious QWERTY keyboard, the smartphone will sport a 4.6-inch display that supports a rather unusual 1620 x 1080 pixel resolution.

The phone is expected to come equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor inside, coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable memory. The Mercury will be powered by a 3,400 mAh battery and it will run Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box.

BlackBerry Mercury will be launched globally, but in the United States it will definitely be picked up by Verizon. Other US carriers might offer the Mercury as well.
