Details about the upcoming BlackBerry Key2 have leaked online, along with some interesting images.

In case you forgot, BlackBerry is still around, and phones with its name are still being released. The latest one is called the BlackBerry Key2, and we’re just a day away from the official announcement.

Just a few years ago, BlackBerry devices were on top of the world, but a series of bad choices and other various circumstances relegated them to a much lower position. Somehow, the BlackBerry phones are still around and seem to be different enough to warrant some attention.

A keyboard for real fans

Years after the physical keyboard was dropped from smartphones we can still find people that pine for it. Sure, it gives a nice feeling, and it’s hard to discover someone that doesn’t like it, but it’s also a feature that eats up display space. It’s definitely a compromise.

Evan Blass revealed what the phone would look like, and to no one’s surprise, it looks pretty much like the first version, although it’s a little bit more refined. We have to keep in mind that it’s not built by BlackBerry Limited (formerly Research In Motion), but by TCL, which is a Chinese company that makes devices under the Blackberry brand.

Also, the new BlackBerry Key2 also comes with dual cameras, which is not surprising given the existing trends and will be based, supposedly, on the Snapdragon 660 platforms.

Unfortunately, there is no indication of the size of the display, but the rumor is that it’s going to keep the 4.5-inch size. More details are going to be revealed soon by the company.

In any case, it’s good to see Blackberry devices out there, even if they seem to have a difficult time getting rid of the past and moving into the future.
