Following the disturbing reports from the community that the graphics quality in Fallout 4 is less than stellar, the developers from Bethesda have published details about the engine and its capabilities on their blog.

We wrote today that it's a bad thing that Bethesda is not getting involved in the online discussions regarding the graphical quality of the upcoming Fallout 4, but they must have figured out the same thing.

A new entry has appeared on the official blog and it outlines what's been done and what are some of the technologies that have been added to the game.

"Our Creation Engine has evolved to incorporate this new technology in order to empower the artists and designers at Bethesda Game Studios to create an immersive new world. The tech team here is closely aligned with the art team, and together we carefully selected each individual feature based on specific artistic and performance goals we wanted to achieve in creating this world," wrote the developers.

Fallout 4 looks gorgeous

If we take a closer look at the images posted by Bethesda, we can see a really different Fallout game than the one in the PC screenshots that leaked to the community.

The engine is capable of temporal antialiasing, motion blur, volumetric lighting, screen space ambient occlusion, tiled deferred lighting, gamma correct physically based shading and much more.

The Fallout 4 world looks like it's really dynamic, and what they are showing us is definitely of much better quality than the leaked screenshots. With this in mind, Bethesda hasn't said what kind of platform was used for those screenshots and all the technologies that they mentioned could be made possible, at least in theory, on consoles as well.

Fallout 4 is scheduled for launch on November 10, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The preload for most of these platforms should be live already.
