A few influencers received a few different canvas bags

Bethesda’s duffle bag debacle doesn’t want to go away, and now it looks like the company actually made a canvas duffle bag, but they were only meant for influencers.

If this is your first time reading about the Bethesda and duffle bags, you must feel a little bit confused. The story is pretty straightforward, and it all has to do with the Fallout 76's Power Armor Edition.

Bethesda recently released Fallout 76, their latest game in the Fallout universe. Leaving aside all the technical problems that have plagued the game, and which constitute a story in themselves, Bethesda also released a special version called the Power Armor Edition. Among other things, it contained a large duffle bag.

The promotional materials showed the bag to be made out of canvas, but people got a cheap nylon replacement. Users were not happy. The blunder continued when Bethesda offered 5$ for some in-game items as compensation. And then, to make things more interesting, a representative said in an e-mail that the canvas versions proved to be too expensive and were only used to promote the game.

Some canvas bags do exist

What started as a small issue for Bethesda, it eventually snowballed out of control. It turns out that some canvas bags were made for the game, albeit they are not the same as the ones used for the Power Armor Edition.

According to Gamerant, Bethesda provided influencers that attended the Greenbrier promo event free duffle bags. The community took this is a slap, although to be fair they probably had a handful of these bags made, and thousands of order for the Power Armor Edition.

In any case, it looks like it’s just another problem for Bethesda, and it’s not going away, despite the company’s promised to do better.
