As we showed you yesterday, the Lumia 950 XL comes with a really advanced camera that can shoot stunning 4K videos in low-light conditions, and a new clip that has recently been posted online comes to confirm that Microsoft’s new flagship is one of the best devices in this regard.

The footage you see here compares Lumia 950 XL’s video recording capabilities in different lighting conditions but also shows how the phone shoots in low light with the new Flash.

In case you haven’t heard, the 950 XL comes with a brand new RGB triple-LED flash that’s supposed to keep the natural look of all colors and thus provide exquisite photo quality even in complete darkness.

Improved performance in low light

Lumia 950 XL is specifically improved for better performance in low-light conditions, so it comes with a super-high-sensitivity sensor, plus the fifth-generation OIS to make sure that quality isn’t affected when not holding the phone steady. Additionally, it also features large aperture to compensate for the lack of light.

The device comes with a 20-megapixel camera with PureView technology and F1.9 Zeiss optics, and Microsoft says that it specifically worked on improving the quality of the photos no matter the conditions. So the Flash can be used not only in low-light conditions but also to compensate for different colors that could change the background tint of your picture.

“The natural three LED (red, green, blue) flash automatically matches the colors of the ambient light. This means that if you’re taking a photo outside at twilight, the flash will produce a blue light to complement the bluish color of the scene, and if you’re taking a photo of a candlelit dinner, the flash will adjust to expose candlelight,” Microsoft explains.

The Lumia 950 XL is projected to hit the market sometime this month, so everyone should be able to try out its new camera in just a couple of weeks.
