Huawei is working on a new smartphone to introduce to the market, a device that would be part of the Honor series, just one month after it released the flagship Honor V8. The company is said to announce the new Honor 5A and Honor 5A Plus tomorrow, on June 12.  The latter device has been spotted on GFXBench, and the benchmark test has revealed some details.

Honor 5A Plus is expected to come with a 5.5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and Snapdragon 615 SoC under the hood. It should carry an octa-core 1.5GHz CPU and come with Adreno 405 graphics processing unit.

At its core, the smartphone will pack 2GB of RAM, but just 16GB of internal storage. The rear camera should have 13MP for snapping images and capturing videos. The front camera will likely provide 8MP, and the device is expected to come with Android Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box, together with Huawei's EMUI user interface on top.

A while ago, the device passed through TENAA, which revealed some additional details on it. It's worth knowing that it should come with a 3,000mAh battery to keep the handset’s lights on.

The Honor 5A will have specs similar to the Honor 5A Plus

The Honor 5A should feature a smaller display of 5 inches and a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, with a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone should also ensure 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

Rear camera capabilities are supposed to be the same as on the Honor 5A Plus, but the front camera should have 2MP. The device will be powered by a 2,200mAh battery and come with Android Lollipop 5.1.

The Honor 5A could also fall in the entry-level price range and might only be available in Asian markets. Whatever the case, Huawei will be revealing specs and possibly price details during tomorrow’s unveiling.
