Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are legally separated and in the process of getting a divorce, and he’s just been exposed as a lying cheat in the media, but they’re still putting on a united front for their 3 children.

The family spent the weekend together in Atlanta, and Ben slipped his wedding band back on his finger, as paparazzi photos available online confirm.

Ben and Jen have been “talking every day”

According to People Magazine, despite the events of the past couple of weeks or so, Jennifer hasn’t cut off Ben completely. Just last week, as more details about his affair with nanny Christine Ouzounian emerged in the press, rumor had it that she was no longer picking up his calls because she was “disgusted” by his behavior and the public embarrassment he brought on her.

Jennifer and Ben announced their decision to divorce last month, 1 day after their 10th wedding anniversary, after she found out that he had been sleeping with the kids’ nanny. They had been having problems already but were still trying to work them out, so to her, this betrayal felt like cheating.

The nanny is now staying at the Bel Air Hotel in Los Angeles on Ben’s money, while Jennifer is with the kids in Atlanta, where she’s shooting a new movie. She still talks to Ben “every day,” an insider tells the publication.

“They are still getting through and doing their own stuff and taking care of the kids, but it's not easy on them,” the tipster continues.

Ben and Jen spend the weekend together

Proof that they’re determined to stay a family for the kids is in the fact that Ben dropped everything else and flew to Atlanta to be with his family this weekend.

The Daily Mail has photos of him out and about, and then taking the kids with Jennifer to the movies and a farmer’s market.

He looks rather scruffy and tired, but he’s still wearing his wedding band. Word has it that both refuse to remove it in front of the kids because it would give them the wrong idea about how their parents would never be in the same room again.

This is more a question of giving them the impression of stability, it is being said. They’re not considering reconciling, in case you thought this was why they weren’t removing their wedding rings.

In Affleck’s case, it could also be an attempt to get the sympathy vote, especially after weeks of bad press. He’s done it before, as a means to come across as the good guy who’s heartbroken over his broken marriage (which he broke): at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, for instance, he wore his ring on the panel and removed it the second he got up from the chair and left the venue.

He couldn’t even wait to get back inside the car before taking it out.
