14 DAY TRIAL // What nanny cheating controversy? As more reports emerge to say that, indeed, Hollywood actor Ben Affleck cheated on his wife, actress Jennifer Garner, with the kids’ nanny, when they were on family vacation in the Bahamas, the two A-listers continue to put a united front.
They spent the weekend at the Universal Studios theme park in Florida, celebrating his 43rd birthday, it has emerged. They were accompanied by their 3 kids and Affleck’s mother, but supposedly no nanny.
Doing it for the kids
The photo below started making the rounds on Twitter some hours ago: it shows the 2 actors, who announced their decision to divorce after 10 years last month, trying to go incognito at the theme park.
TMZ also has a blurry photo of the two, while Us Weekly reports that Affleck’s mom, Christine, tagged along for the ride.
It also cites sources familiar to the situation as saying this was an attempt to keep it together for the kids, Violet, Seraphina and Samuel. Apparently, they’re determined to continue living together after the divorce goes through for the same reason, to make the transition as smooth as possible on the children.
This is also why neither has removed the wedding band yet.
“They feel like they have to be mature adults for their children's sake and that they will figure out the healthiest way to co-parent,” says a source. “They want the kids' lives to stay the same and to not have to change just because they aren't going to be married anymore.”
The nanny scandal
Meanwhile, Christine Ouzounian, the 28-year-old who briefly worked as nanny to the kids before Garner found out about her affair with Affleck and fired her, continues to attract attention onto herself.
After stepping out in a brand-new convertible white Lexus (her “new Lexi,” as she called it), which Affleck supposedly paid for, and staying for more than a week at the exclusive Bel Air Hotel in LA (also on Affleck’s dime, allegedly), Ouzounian has been making sure she gets papped whenever she steps out.
Publicists for Affleck have repeatedly denied there was any truth to the cheating claims, but incriminating evidence, including of the photographic kind, has emerged online since.
She visited him at his home after the split in the dead of night, arriving in his car and punching the code at the gate. She traveled to him to Las Vegas and posed with Tom Brady’s Super Bowl rings on the private jet, and she had no reason to be there because the kids were with Garner in the Bahamas.
Considering the scale of the cheating scandal, some celebrity pundits and commentators see in Ben and Jen’s show of unity an attempt to distract attention from it.
