The Journey Down: Chapter Three, the last chapter in the series, is now finally available on Steam for PC, Mac OS, and Linux, and in the App Store.

The first chapter in this great adventure launched all the way back in 2012, and it was based on a low-res free version named The Journey Down: Over the Edge. It’s a complicated history, but what’s important is that now we’re going to find out how the story ends.

Sure, there are lots of point and click adventure games on the market, but very few have a real soul. This can be said easily about The Journey Down series, which manages to build an entire alternative world and culture inspired by African art and makes it believable and alive.

It’s all about the characters

Even if we can put aside the beautifully drawn animations and backgrounds, we’re still left with an amazing cast of characters. Players get to care about them and become personally invested in a way that’s not common for point and click games.

In the third chapter, Bwana and his friends have finally reached the Underland. He’s looking for his long-lost father, and he’s stumbled on conspiracy that has the Armando Power Company at its center.

It might sound like a weird story, but it will suck players right in with its enthralling music and hand-drawn art. The game sets such a high standard, that it will be difficult to play other similar games and not think about it.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper adventure without a host of puzzles, but the good news is that they won’t hold people back with their difficulty. You’ll still be able to enjoy the story without checking for the solutions online.

The game is now available on Steam with a 10% discount, and we’ll have a proper review online in a few days.
