The enhanced editions are now available globally

Beamdog and Skybound Games are bringing the classic RPGs Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, and Planescape: Torment to consoles for the first time. The enhanced editions these classic Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing videogames, including Baldur’s Gate, the Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear expansion, Baldur’s Gate II, Planescape: Torment, and Icewind Dale, are now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch for $49.99 each.

Also, Skybound Games confirmed that boxed versions of these games can be purchased at major retailers for $49.99 each on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. These cRPGs will be grouped into two collections, hence the higher price.

The first one is the Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Pack, which includes the original Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and its sequel, Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition, as well as all DLC and restored quest content. Also, the Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear expansion, featuring new original content developed by Beamdog to bridge the two games is included too.

The second collection sells as Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition / Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition and contains two must-play games and all their DLC in one package. Players who purchase the collection will receive Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition, plus its expansions, and the enhanced edition of 1999’s RPG of the Year, Planescape: Torment.

Besides these cRPGs, Beamdog and Skybound Games announced Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition will land on consoles on December 3, 2019. The boxed edition is already available for pre-order on Skybound Games' website.

All games have been specifically designed for a natural gameplay experience on consoles, Beamdog claims. All these enhanced editions are meant to offer fans of the series and newcomers alike the opportunity to play these critically acclaimed adventures from a golden age of RPGs in a whole new way.

Each title has been with support for high-resolution widescreen displays, while controls have been optimized for console controllers. Furthermore, new content, new characters and classes, expanded character creation options, redesigns of the UI and UX, bug fixes, balance changes and more have been included in these enhanced editions.
