14 DAY TRIAL // BlackBerry has just released a new version of BBM for BlackBerry 10 devices. However, this new build is only available to beta testers, so you won't find it in BlackBerry World just yet.
The good news is you will be able to update to the latest version if you are part of the BBM beta through BlackBerry Beta Zone. This will allow you to take advantage of the new features included in the latest update delivered by BlackBerry.
Although the most recent version of BBM for BlackBerry 10 doesn't come with as many new features as the previous iteration, they are at least just as important.
According to the official changelog, BlackBerry has added a new option that will let BBM users request a Glympse, CrackBerry reports.
You will be able to know when your friends arrive at the rendezvous point if they want to disclose that information.
Keep in mind, though, that this feature is only functional if you and your friends have the same version of BBM installed on the BlackBerry 10 devices.
More accurate search results
So for the time being, this feature can only be tested by BlackBerry Beta Zone members that are friends with each other. Once it's released to the public, everyone with the same version of BBM will be able to use it.
Another improvement included in this update is related to BBM Search. This function has been updated so that search results will take you to first instance of the matched results.
Also, BlackBerry claims that, with the new update, search results obtained through BBM Search should now be more accurate. The only way to know if it's true or not is to test it yourself.
As mentioned earlier, this update is only available in BlackBerry Beta Zone. Before updating to the latest version of BBM for BlackBerry 10, make sure you back up your chat history by heading to Settings / Toggle Save Chat History ON / Back-up now.
