14 DAY TRIAL // BlackBerry had some rough couple of years, but BBM was always among the most popular services offered by the Canadian company.
Now that it's available on two of the biggest mobile platforms available on the market, BBM has more users than ever. Although the service is free, some features require a monthly fee or a one-time purchase.
BBM has been greatly improved in the last couple of months, as BlackBerry is trying to monetize one of its most treasured services.
The latest update released by BlackBerry brings a few new features that provide users with more control over some BBM functions. Also, some improvements to BBM Protected have been implemented too.
With the latest update, users will be able to set a subject for a multi-person chat. In addition, the new version of BBM allows users to control notification previews, but they will also be able to scroll through group picture gallery.
As mentioned earlier, some BBM Protected updates have been included in this version of BlackBerry Messenger.
The update only arrived on Android platform
According to the official changelog, users can now send high priority messages within a chat. With team chat, users can set a chat subject and invite team members.
Last but not least, developers confirmed that multi-person chats now show Delivered and Read notification marks.
The update has gone live in Google Play Store and BlackBerry World, but the Canadian company did not mention whether or not it would release a new BBM version for iOS.
If you don't have the application yet, you can now download BBM for Android for free via Google Play store. The instant messenger should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.0 and up.
Keep in mind that while the application is available for free, it features in-app purchases. However, you can disable this feature from your device's settings if you don't want to spend real money.
