Gamers will be able to explore some new environments

Video game developer Visceral Games and publisher Electronic Arts are ready to give fans of Battlefield Hardline a full look at the maps that they are planning to introduce in the coming Getaway downloadable content pack, which is expected to arrive in January of next year for all those who have a Premium membership.

The entire package is designed around the idea of movement, and the two companies want to encourage players to try out new tactics and new items to improve their performance in battle.

The Pacific Highway map is set on the coast of central California, including a secluded winery and an abandoned lighthouse, with a forest hiding a range of other sites that gamers can explore.

The environment features a special exotic car, and the Rock Shed event can be triggered by a team to try and bury its enemies and gain a powerful advantage.

Train Dodge is linked to Colorado and features a frontier mining town with an active railroad track, making ziplines interesting and explosives one of the most efficient weapons for players to use.

Visceral Games states, "The train will crush all that get in its way, but its flatbeds can be ridden by those who are daring! (Make sure a train doesn’t wreck on your watch, or it will reduce the width of some tunnels to a single track.) Stunt drivers and bikers will find plenty of jumps to forge their paths through the wilderness."

Getaway is adding more variety to the shooter

Double Cross features the United States - Mexican border and represents one of the biggest maps created for Battlefield Hardline, featuring border checkpoints and smuggling tunnels that allow teams to create some impressive moments in both Conquest and Hotwire.

Diversion is the final of the four maps, set in the Houston Flood Diversion Center, featuring flood doors that modify the battle space and gas lines that can be blown up to destroy enemy groups, creating a maze that will favor fast reflexes and careful planning.

Getaway for Battlefield Hardline will also introduce more weapons, more gadgets and extra vehicles for gamers to use, with details about them coming in the next weeks.

This is the third major DLC pack for the shooter, and another one is set to arrive later in 2016, with smaller patches used until then to balance the title.

Battlefield as a series is one of the most important assets that Electronic Arts has and that means another title in the series has been confirmed as coming in the fall of next year.

The company has not announced whether DICE will develop it, but rumors are saying that the studio has big plans to revitalize the franchise and that it will return to a classic military theme, maybe with a near future theme.

Some analysts are suggesting that Call of Duty, the leading first-person shooter of the moment, is in decline and that 2016 would be a perfect moment for Battlefield to deliver an installment that can challenge its domination.
