The development team at DICE might have bigger video games to focus on at the moment, but the studio is still trying to improve the Battlefield 4 experience, currently working on a piece of free downloadable content called Community Operations which is set to be launched before the end of fall.

A new video allows fans of the shooter to take a look at the testing sessions that the new content is undergoing right now, showing the new Operation Outbreak map, which has been created through a collaboration process with the community.

DICE states, "The result is a dense infantry focused jungle map called Operation Outbreak. Are you ready to draw first blood?"

The development team is aiming to make Community Operations a solid update for the core mechanics of the shooter, giving gamers access to a re-balanced set of weapons and making infantry the king of the combat space once again.

Battlefield 4 is already an old title, but DICE knows that it has a lot of dedicated fans who are still playing it and that, by catering to their needs, it makes sure that they will continue to support the series in the long term.

A new Battlefield is coming in 2016

The fourth title had a lot of problems when it was first launched and many gamers criticized the core mechanics, but the developers delivered a range of updates in order to improve the overall experience.

The current title in the series, called Battlefield Hardline, was created by Visceral Games and focuses on the conflict between criminal gangs and the police rather than classic military operations.

DICE is at the moment focusing most of its resources on Star Wars: Battlefront, which is set to arrive on November 17 and will allow gamers to take part in all the battles mentioned in the original movie trilogy.

The most recent financial results of Electronic Arts included a comment that a new Battlefield video game was slated for launch in late 2016.

It's unclear who will handle development, although it seems that DICE is set to return to the franchise in order to deliver a more classic experience for the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
