14 DAY TRIAL // Battlefield 4 was released two years ago and since then DICE published another one in the series, but it doesn't mean that the creators of the game have abandoned the community. In fact, a new Battlefield 4 Community Operations integrates a new map that's been developed with the users' help.
DICE is one of the few studios out there that continue to work with the community that forms around a successful game. Some people weren't happy that the DICE and Electronic Arts announced the new Hardline a little too fast, but Battlefield 4 was not forgotten.
The developers have continued to provide updates for the game and a new one is just about to land, free of charge. On the other hand, it would have been weird to ask money for a map that's been created with input from the community.
Battlefield 4 is still relevant, and it has a very large user base. It's probably just as big as its predecessor, Battlefield 3, and there is no good reason not to take advantage of such a community. The developers have also been working on a new fall update for the game, but that's going to be a different matter.
Battlefield 4 Community Operations is arriving today
It's been several months since the Battlefield 4 Community Operations was initially announced, and DICE used this time to put the map together and to refine it. The Battlefield 4 Fall Update is also planned for a release on October 27.
"It’s been a long road for the Community Map Project, and the Battlefield 4 community has been involved every step of the way. You’ll be able to experience the final product – Battlefield 4 Community Operations is rolling out on October 27, and includes Operation Outbreak, the map you had a hand in creating. The Battlefield 4 Fall Update will be releasing on the same day, but Community Operations will be a separate free download available from the Origin My Games tab and the PlayStation PS Store and Xbox Marketplace," reads the official announcement.
