Battleborn is a little more than one month away from launch and the developers at Gearbox Software working on the new hero shooter are eager to offer more information about the title, including the minimum and suggested hardware requirements for those playing on the PC.

The game will include a story mode, which will introduce narrative moments and will allow players to play in a linear manner if they are on their own or to jump into levels they have not yet unlocked if they are engaged in cooperative play.

Gamers cannot get into a match that's already in progress, but it's possible to get into the same group that one was previously disconnected from, with the developers promising that Battleborn will make it easy to find friends that are determined to work together.

The official announcement adds, "When things get tough, make it tougher! If you’re up for a challenge, flip on Hardcore mode and jump into Story episodes for extra loot, all new unlockable content, and some really, REALLY tough fights."

The minimum system requirements for Battleborn are Windows 7 running on 64 bit, with Intel i5-750 or AMD Phenom IIx4 945 and 6 GB of RAM, and gamers will have to free up 30 GB of space on their hard drive and own a video card that is at least an AMD HD 6870 or an Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 with support for PhysX.

The recommended specs keep the same core elements but up the processor to an Intel i5-750 or an AMD Phenom IIx4 945, with 50 GB of free hard drive and a video card powered by AMD HD 7850 or by Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 with 2 GB of RAM.

Battleborn will also feature a unique progression system

The Gearbox title will also offer three core multiplayer modes, called Meltdown, Capture and Incursion, each designed for a new type of gameplay and the team is promising that more environments will be introduced for free after launch.

Both story and multiplayer action give a player experience that unlocks temporary Helix augmentations for their characters as well as Commander and Characters ranks that are persistent.

The first set of options will be activated during combat to introduce new powers or abilities to a character, making them more useful during complex engagements and offering players choices linked to their style of play.

Mutations are linked to persistent progression and gamers will also get access to titles, taunts and skins for their characters.
