14 DAY TRIAL // The PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight is finally being relaunched after having been pulled from shelves and all digital stores. The PC release was mired with problems, bugs and generally poor performance, leaving Warner Bros. no other choice.
It became evident at launch that the Rocksteady studio and the Warner Bros. publisher didn't want to invest too much money in the PC version. The result of that decision cost them dearly, much more than a proper PC port. Many users canceled their orders, and the backlash in the PC gaming community was fierce. Their only solution was to stop the sales of the game, which they did.
Warner Bros. promised to re-release the game at a later date, sometime during the fall season. They will keep their word, and it looks like they've done a great job with the PC port. We've been playing the game even after it was pulled from shelves, and the team has already released quite a few patches for the people who already bought it. The game now plays as it should be, although this shouldn’t really be praised.
PC game will be on par with consoles
Quite a bit of content has been released for the console version of Batman: Arkham Knight since the initial release, but it looks like the PC gamers will get all of that, with the exception of the stuff that's exclusive for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
"At 10 am PDT, Oct. 28th, Batman: Arkham Knight will be re-released for the PC platform. At the same time, we’ll also be releasing a patch that brings the PC version fully up-to-date with content that has been released for the console (with the exception of console exclusives). This means that next week, all PC players will have access to Photo Mode, Big Head Mode, Batman: Arkham Asylum Batman Skin, and character selection in combat AR challenges," is noted in the official announcement on the Steam forums.
PC users that already had the game in their Steam library don't need to do anything extra. You can also check below the entire list of content that has been made available to the Season Pass holders.
